The Red Carpet Experience

The Red Carpet Experience

What better way to celebrate a 13th birthday than a red carpet movie experience for you and your closest pals. This celebration was yet another case of getting creative and trying to fit in an outdoor only event with only a couple close friends during the pandemic. We still managed to make sure this birthday girl had a special day and fortunately we were also not in a lockdown phase.

It all started with a stylish red carpet walk on arrival. The stanchions were thrown together with some items around the house believe it or not; some cardboard wrapping paper tubes, dollar store outdoor light spikes, leftover wood blocks and gold Christmas ornaments…and with a lot of gold spray paint, we made it work! If only it wasn’t so windy that day…we had to source a few rocks to hold down the carpet!

The movie screen and decor was setup in the garage complete with a lighted photo backdrop and props for a very fun photo booth experience. These fairy lights were strung in front of a large black sheet covering the garage wall and some cute movie magic signage adorned the front.

Some garage seating was set up and distanced so each guest had their own comfy space. As part of the take home favours, each guest had a glamour pedicure set waiting for them to get those toes red carpet ready.

The big screen needed a little pizzaz to brighten up the garage space so a large balloon garland was crafted complete with Hollywood stars and light up gold balloons.

Light snacks were available and staying true to theme included popcorn of course (in these themed popcorn containers), candy and drinks.

It may not have been the party she had hoped for her teenage debut but I think she and her friends felt pretty special so that’s all that matters.
